The PI6B2407 PLL(phase-locked loop) universal clock distribution chip in BiCMOS technology allows the user to generate tweleve TTL outputs with multiple clock phases programmed by two input pins PHSEL0 and PHSEL1. A high frequency on chip VCO and a divider control pin allow the clock outputs with the selectable frequency inputs. The test enable input allows VCO bypass for open loop operation. By using the programmable divider and the phase selector the user can generate output clocks at same or twice the reference clcok input frequency. The outputs of PI6B2407  can be phase-adjusted in increments as small as 2.5ns to tailor the clocks to exactsystem requirement.Multiple output phase relationship are available from the different configuration of the divider, the phase selectors and the selected output for FBCLK. PI6B2407  has many unique features: the first one is it generates twelve outputs from the reference input clock frequency, with near zero skew between the input and output clocks.The second one is multiple selectable phase/frequency relations for the clock outputs. The third one is it compensates for clock skew dwon to 2.5 ns increments. The forth one is controlled edge rate TTL outputs with less than ±250 ps pin to pin skew. The fifth one is maximum phase error ±250 ps. The sixth one is proven 0.8-micron BiCMOS technology.The seventh one is single +5 V power supply operation.The last one is 44 pin PLCC package.Besides, there are also some applications.The first one is high-speed Microprocessor systems. The second one is board-to-board clock synchronization. The third one is trace delay/loading compensation. The forth one is backplane clock deskew and distribution. The last one is high performance ASIC systems.

There are some maximum ratings about PI6B2407 (above which the useful life may be impaired.For user guidelines, not tested).Storage temperature is -65 to +150.Ambient temperature with power applied is 0 to +70.Supply voltage to ground potential(inputs and Vcc only) is -0.5 V to +7.0 V. Supply voltage to ground potential(Outputs and D/O only) is -0.5 V to Vcc. DC input voltage is -0.5 V to +7.0 V.DC output current is 120 mA. Power dissipation is 0.5W.Besides, there are also some other electrical characteristics about it. DC: Output high voltage(VOH) is 2.4 V min and 3.0 V typ when Vcc is the minimum value and Vin is VIH or VIL and IOH is -24 mA. Output low voltage(VOL) is 0.3 V typ and 0.5 V max when Vc is the minimum vlaue and VIN is VIH or VIL and IOL is 24 mA . Input high voltage(VIH) is 2.0 V min(guaranteed logic high level). Input low voltage(VIL) is 0.8 V max(guaranteed logic low level).Input high current(IIN) is 15A max when Vcc is the maximum value and VIN is 2.7 V. Input low current(IIL) is -15A max(Vcc is the maximum value and VIN is 0.5 V).Short circuit current(Ios) is 120 mA max when Vcc is the maximum vlaue and Vout is 0.5 V.Power supply current(Icc) is 160 mA max when Vcc is the maximum value.
