The PC87120, superAT, implements most of the medium scale/small integration circuits used in building an 80286 processor kernel in one chip. With it, a complete solution for 10 to 16MHz 80286-based mother-board can be designed toghter with a CPU, memory devices and 16 ICs.

PC87120 integrates all of the peripheral support required for compatibility in a PC/AT system, along with a programmable clock generator, a programmable bus controller and a programmable memory controler. In addition, PC87120 incorporates a processor-coprocessor interface, a peripheral chip select, speaker circuitry, ROM BIOS access logic, and reset logic for the processor, coprocessor and the entire system. The memory controller of PC87120 can be configured to support 1, 2 or 4 memory banks with zero or one programmed wait state. Conventional mode, two-way page interleaving mode or enhanced two-way page interleaving mode can be selected, allowing the designer to maximize system performance while using low-cost DRAMs. And so on.
