The P3156 is designed as one kind of ultra los distortion low profile line matching transformers which is intended for data communications to V.90 and V.92 (56kbps) data rates. It is specifically designed to be matched to both 600 ohm and complex impedance telephone lines, using a minimum of external components, with very flat TX and RX frequency responses. P3156 has extended flat frequency response from 30Hz to 4kHz with very low levels of signal distortion at signal frequencies as low as 150Hz. P3156 also exhibits stable characteristics over its operating temperature range to maximize data throughput under varying environmental conditions without the need for modem retraining. It is certified to IEC 60950 and UL 60950. P3156 is a UL recognized component and is supported by an IEC CB test certificate. The part is completely lead-free, compliant with RoHS directive 2002/95/EC, and suitable for lead-free and conventional processing.
P3156 has nine features. (1)Ultra low distortion. (2)Lead-free (Pb-free). (3)RoHS compliant. (4)Low profile (11mm). (5)Extended frequency response. (6)IEC 60950 and UL 60950 certified. Some absolute maximum ratings of P3156 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its short term isolation voltage 2s would be 4.6kVrms, 6.5kVdc. (2)Its DC current would be 100uA. (3)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to +125°C. (4)Its lead temperature 10 seconds would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of P3156 are concluded as follow. (1)Its insertion loss would be typ 4.8dB. (2)Its frequency response would be typ 10Hz at LF -3dB cutoff and would be typ 8kHz at HF -3dB cutoff. (3)Its return loss would be in 14dB at 200Hz to 4kHz. (4)Its distortion would be max -90dBm at 0dBm in line, 3rd harmonic f=600Hz and would be typ -77dBm at -3dBm in line, 3rd harmonic f=150Hz. And so on.
