Description

The P1500ME is designed as one kind of CATV line amplifiers/power inserters NE SIDACtor device. The SIDACtor device is a 5000A solid state protection device offered in a non-isolated TO-218 package. It protects equipment located in the severe surge environment of CATV (community antenna TV) applications. In CATV line amplifiers and power inserters, this P1500ME can replace the gas tubes traditionally used for station protection because SIDACtor devices have much tighter voltage tolerances.

Some absolute maximum ratings of P1500ME have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its Ipp 8x20us would be 5000A. (2)Its Itsm 60Hz would be 400A. (3)Its di/dt would be 630A/us. (4)Its operating junction temperature range would be from -40°C to 150°C. (5)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (6)Its maximum case temperature would be 100°C. (7)Its thermal resistance junction to case would be 1.7°C/W. (8)Its thermal resistance junction to ambient would be 56°C/W. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.

Also some electrical characteristics of P1500ME  are concluded as follow. (1)Its Vdrm would be 140V. (2)Its Vs would be 180V. (3)Its Vt would be 4V. (4)Its Idrm would be 5uA.
