The NCP800 is designed as one kind of lithium battery protection circuit for one cell battery packs that has five points of features: (1)internally trimmed precision charge and discharge voltage limits; (2)discharge current limit detection; (3)automatic reset from discharge current faults; (4)low current standby state when cells are discharged; (5)available in a low profile surface mount package. In order to maintain cell operation within specified limits, this protection circuit senses cell voltage and discharge current, and correspondingly controls the state of two, Nchannel, MOSFET switches.
