The NCP500 is a CMOS Low Noise LDO voltage regulator designed to improve the performance of noise sensitive circuits in portable products. Featuring low dropout voltage and a small 5 lead SOT-23 package size, the NCP500 LDO regulator provides space and cost savings and is ideal for applications that require low noise operation, fast enable response times and low dropout. The device has been optimized for use in cellular handsets which require low noise operation. NCP500 achieves its low noise performance without the need of an external noise bypass capacitor. Operating within a voltage range of 1.8 volts to six volts, the NCP500 has an enable pin and current limit and temperature limit protection circuits. NCP500 has also been designed to be used with small, low cost ceramic capacitors and requires a minimum output capacitor of 1 micro farad. The NCP500 is available with output voltages of 1.8 V, 2.5 V, 2.8 V, 3.0 V and 3.3 V.
