Description

The MV1471 is a kind of encoder/decoder for pesudo-ternary transmission codes. The device, along with other devices in the GPS 2 Mbit PCM signalling series comprise a group of circuits which will perform the common channel signalling and error detection functions for a 2.048Mbit PCM transmission link operating in accordance with the appropriate CCITT recommendations. The device can operate at clock rates up to 10 MHz. It is fabricated in CMOS and operates from a single +5 V supply with all inputs and outputs TTL compatible. The device encodes and decodes simultaneously and asynchronously. In addition, the MV1471 provides error monitoring functions to detect violations of the HDB3 coding and all ones detection. The device also provides a loop back function for terminal testing.

There are some features about MV1471 as follows: (1)single +5 V supply; (2)all inputs and outputs TTL compatible; (3)selectable HDB3 or AMI coding; (4)HDB3 encoding and decoding to CCITT recommendation G.703; (5)simultaneous encoding and decoding; (6)clock recovery signal allows clock regeneration from incoming PCM data; (7)loop back control; (8)HDB3 error monitor; (9)alarm indication signal monitor; (10)low power operation; (11)2.048 MHz or 8.448 MHz operation.

The following is about the absolute maximum ratings of MV1471: (1)supply voltage: -0.5 to +7 V; (2)input voltage: -0.5 to VDD+0.5 V; (3)output voltage: -0.5 to VDD+0.5 V; (4)storage temperature (DP): -55 to +150; (5)storage temperature (DG): -65 to +150. Then is about the static characteristics: (1)low level input voltage, VIL: 0.0 V min and 0.8 V max; (2)high level input voltage, VIH: 2.0 V min and VDD V max; (3)low level output voltage, VOL: 0.4 V max at Isink=2 mA; (4)high level output voltage, VOH: 2.4 V min at Isource=2 mA and VDD-1.0 V min at Isource=1 mA; (5)input leakage current, IIL: -10A min and 200A max at Vin=VDD or GND; (6)supply current, IS: 5 mA max at 2.048 MHz operation and 15 mA max at 8.448 MHz operation; (7)input capacitance, CIN: 5 pF typ at all inputs; (8)output capacitance, CIN: 5 pF typ at all outputs.
