The MURS240 is designed as one kind of surface mount ultrafast plastic rectifiers for use in high frequency rectification and freewheeling application in switching mode converters and inverters for consumer, computer and telecommunication.
MURS240 has eight features. (1)Glass passivated chip junction. (2)Ideal for automated placement. (3)Ultrafast reverse recovery time. (4)Low switching losses, high efficiency. (5)High forward surge capability. (6)Meets MSL level 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 260°C. (7)Solder dip 260°C, 40s. (8)Component in accordance to RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings about MURS240 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage would be 400V. (2)Its maximum average forward rectified current at Tl=125°C would be 2.0A. (3)Its peak forward surge current 8.3ms single half sine-wave superimposed on rated load would be 35A. (4)Its operating junction and storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 175°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of MURS240 are concluded as follow. (1)Its maximum instantaneous forward voltage would be 1.45V at If=2.0A, Tj=25°C and would be 1.2V at If=2.0A, Tj=125°C. (2)Its maximum instantaneous reverse current would be 5.0uA at Tj=25°C and would be 150uA at Tj=125°C. (3)Its maximum reverse recovery time would be 50ns with conditions of If=5.0A, Ir=1.0A, Irr=0.25A. (4)Its maximum forward recovery time 50ns with current would be If=1.0A, dl/dt=100A/us, recovery to 1.0V. (5)Its typical thermal resistance junction to lead would be 15°C/W. (6)Its case would be DO-214AA (SMB). (7)Its terminals would mean matte tin plated leads, solderable per J-STD-002 and JESD22-B102. And so on. At present we have not got so much information about this MURS240 and we would try hard to get more information about it.
