The MT8981DP is a kind of VLSI ISO-CMOS device which is designed for switching PCM-encoded voice or data, under microprocessor control, in a modern digital exchange, PBX or Central Office. The device provides simultaneous connections for up to 128 64 kbit/s channels. Each of the four serial inputs and outputs includes 32 64 kbit/s channels multiplexed to form a 2048 kbit/s ST-BUS stream. Besides, the MT8981DP provides microprocessor read and write access to individual ST-BUS channels.
There are some features of MT8981DP as follows: (1)Mitel ST-BUS compatible; (2)4-line x 32-channel inputs; (3)4-line x 32-channel outputs; (4)128 ports non-blocking switch; (5)single power supply (+5 V); (6)low power consumption: 30 mW Typ.; (7)microprocessor-control interface; (8)three-state serial outputs.
The following is about the absolute maximum ratings of MT8981DP: (1)VDD-VSS: -0.3 to 7 V; (2)voltage on digital inputs, VI: VSS-0.3 V min and VDD+0.3 V max; (3)voltage on digital outputs, VO: VSS-0.3 V min and VDD+0.3 V max; (4)current at digital outputs, IO: 40 mA max; (5)storage temperature, TS: -65 to +150; (6)package power dissipation, PD: 2 W. Then is about the recommended operating conditions (voltages are with respect to ground (VSS) unless otherwise stated): (1)operating temperature, TOP: -40 to +85; (2)positive supply, VDD: 4.75 V min and 5.25 V max; (3)input voltage, VI: 0 V min and VDD V max.
