The MPC1710A is a monolithic integrated circuit primarily intended for control of low voltage battery operated modes. The MPC1710A contains logic control, predrivers, an oscillator, charge pump and four MOSFETs in the output connected in an H-bridge configuration.

There are some features of MPC1710A as follows. First is high output current which is 1 A continuous and 3 A peak. The second is four control modes including forward, reverse, stand-by and brake. Then is undervoltage lockout. Next is low on-resistance to minimize "on" losses. The fifth is small space saving 16 pin surface mount package. The sixth is low quiescent current which is 1 mA maximum. The last one is available in plastic rails or tape and reel on 32 mm tape.

What comes next is about the maximum ratings of MPC1710A (TJ=25 unless otherwise noted). The VBAT (supply voltage for motor) is from -0.3 to 8 V. The E1 (supply voltage for controller) is from -0.3 to 7 V. The Vin (logic input voltage) is from -0.3 to 7 V. The ID (continuous drain current) is 1 A, the ID (peak drain current (100 ms per 30 sec)) is 3 A and the ID (peak drain current (10 ms per 0.2 sec)) is 3 A.
