Description

The MOC3023 is designed as one kind of 6-pin DIP random-phase optoisolators triac driver output device that can be used in wide range of applications such as (1)Industrial controls; (2)Solenoid/valve controls; (3)Traffic lights; (4)Static AC power switch; (5)Vending machines; (6)Incandescent lamp dimmers; (7)Solid state relay; (8)Motor control; (9)Lamp ballasts. And this device consists of a AlGaAs infrared emitting diode optically coupled to a monolithic silicon detector performing the function of a zero voltage crossing bilateral triac driver.

Features of the MOC3023 are:(1)Simplifies logic control of 115 VAC power; (2)Zero voltage crossing; (3)dv/dt of 2000 V/s typical, 1000 V/s guaranteed; (4)VDE recognized (File # 94766), ordering option V (e.g., MOC3043VM).

The absolute maximum ratings of the MOC3023 can be summarized as:(1)Storage Temperature: -40 to +150 °C;(2)Operating Temperature: -40 to +85 °C;(3)Lead Solder Temperature: 260 for 10 sec °C;(4)Junction Temperature Range: -40 to +100 °C;(5)Isolation Surge Voltage: 7500 Vac(pk);(6)Total Device Power Dissipation @ 25°C: 330 mW;(7)Derate above 25°C: 4.4 mW/°C;(8)Continuous Forward Current: 60 mA;(9)Reverse Voltage: 3 V;(10)Off-State Output Terminal Voltage: 250 V. The MOC3023 Series consists of gallium arsenide infrared emitting diodes, optically coupled to a silicon bilateral switch.
• To order devices that are tested and marked per VDE 0884 requirements, the suffix "V" must be included at end of part number. VDE 0884 is a test option. They are designed for applications requiring isolated triac triggering.
