Description

The MK1V115 is designed as sidac high voltage bilateral trigger for direct interface with the AC power line. Upon reaching the breakover voltage in each direction, the device switches from a blocking state to a low voltage on-state. Conduction will continue like an SCR until the main terminal current drops below the holding current. The plastic exial lead package provides high pulse current capability at low cost. Glass passivation insures reliable operation.

MK1V115 has six typical applications. (1)High presure sodium vapor lighting. (2)Strobes and flashers. (3)Lgnitors. (4)High voltage regulators. (5)Line transient clippers. (6)Oulse generators. Those are all the main applications.

Some absolute maximum ratings of MK1V115 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its repetitive breakover voltage would be min 104V and max 115V. (2)Its off-state repetitive voltage would be max +/-90V. (3)Its on-state RMS current (all conduction angles) would be max 1A. (4)Its On-state surge current (nonrepetitive) (60Hz one cycle sine wave, peak value) would be max 20A. (5)Its operating junction temperature range would be from -40°C to +125°C. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to +150°C. (7)Its lead solder temperature soldering 10s would be max 230°C. (8)Its thermal resistance junction to case would be max 15°C/W. (9)Its thermal resistance junction to ambient would be max 45°C/W. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
