The MC3447 is a kind of bidirectional bus transceiver which is intended as the interface between TTL or CMOS logic and the IEEE standard instrumentation bus (488-1978, often referred to as GPB). Each driver/receiver pair of MC3447 forms the complete interface between the bus and an instrument. Either the driver or the receiver of each channel is enabled by a send/receive input with the disabled output of the pair forced to a high impedance state.
There are some features of MC3447 as follows: (1)low power:average power supply current is 30 mA listening and 75 mA talking; (2)eight driver/receiver pairs; (3)three-state outputs; (4)high impedance inputs; (5)receriver hysteresis: 60 mV (typ); (6)fast propagation times: 15 to 20 ns (typ); (7)TTL compatible receiver outputs; (8)single +5 V supply; (9)open collector driver output with termination; (10)power up/pwer down protection (no invalid information transmitted to bus); (11)no bus loading when power is removed from device; (12)termination provided: termination removed when device is unpowered.
What comes next is about the maximum ratings of MC3447: (1)power supply voltage, VCC: 7.0 V; (2)input voltage, VI: 5.5 V; (3)drive output current, IO(D): 150 mA; (4)junction temperature, TJ: 150; (5)operating ambient temperature range, TA: 0 to +70; (6)storage temperature range, Tstg: -65 to +150.
