The MC1595 is designed as wideband linear four-quadrant multiplier for use where the output is a linear product of two input voltages. Maximum versatility is assured by allowing the user to select the level shift method. MC1595 applications include multiply, divide, square root, mean square, phase detector, frequency doubler, balanced modulator/demodulator and electronic gain control.
MC1595 has six features. (1)Wide bandwidth. (2)Excellent linearity. (3)Adjustable scale factor, K. (4)Excellent temperature stability. (5)Wide input voltage range +/-10V. (6)+/-15V operation. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of MC1595 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its applied voltage would be 30Vdc. (2)Its differential input signal would be +/-(6+I13 Rx)Vdc for V12-V9 and would be +/-(6+I3 Ry)Vdc for V4-V8. (3)Its maximum bias current would be 10mA. (4)Its power dissipation would be 862mW for D suffix, plastic package and would be 750mW for J suffix, ceramic package. (5)Its operating temperature range would be from -55°C to +125°C. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to +150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
