The MAX887HC/D is one member of the MAX887 family which is designed as the 100% duty cycle, low-noise, step-down, PWM DC-DC converter that can be used in (1)portable instruments; (2)cellular phones and radios; (3)personal communicators; (4)distributed power systems; (5)computer peripherals. This device accepts inputs from 3.5V to 11V and delivers 600mA. Operation to 100% duty cycle minimizes dropout voltage (300mV typ at 500mA). Synchronous rectification reduces output rectifier losses, resulting in efficiency as high as 95%.
