The MAX863C/D is designed as one kind of dual, high-efficiency, PFM, step-up DC-DC controller that belongs to the MAX863 family which can be used in (1)2- and 3-Cell Portable Equipment; (2)Organizers; (3)Translators; (4)Hand-Held Instruments; (5)Palmtop Computers; (6)Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs); (7)Dual Supply (Logic and LCD). Also this device uses a current-limited, pulse-frequencymodulated (PFM) control architecture that reduces startup surge currents and maintains low quiescent currents for excellent low-current efficiency.

Features of the MAX863C/D are:(1)Smallest Dual Step-Up Converter: 16-Pin QSOP; (2)90% Efficiency; (3)1.5V Start-Up Voltage; (4)85A Max Total Quiescent Supply Current; (5)1A Shutdown Mode; (6)Independent Shutdown Inputs; (7)Drives Surface-Mount, Dual N-Channel MOSFETs; (8)Low-Battery Input/ Output Comparator; (9)Step-Up/Down Configurable.
