DescriptionThe MAX687CPA is one member of the MAX687 family which is designed as the high-accuracy, low-dropout linear regulator that can be used in (1)high-efficiency linear regulator; (2)battery-powered devices; (3)portable instruments; (4)portable telephones; (5)power supply or backup supply for memory. And the typical applications include portable telephones and other battery-powered equipment where the power supply must be disabled when the battery voltage is low.
Features of the MAX687CPA are:(1)2.7V to 11.0V supply range; (2)8-pin DIP/SO/MAX packages; (3)<2mV line transient with 3.4V to 3.6V input; (4)output accuracy <±2%; (5)precision threshold shutdown control; (6)automatic, latched shutdown when output falls out of regulation; (7)power-fail output monitors the output voltage; (8)10mA min base-current drive for >1A output; (9)directly drives external PNP transistor.
