The MAX3775 evaluation kits (EV kits) simplify evaluation of the MAX3772MAX3775 Fibre Channel repeater ICs. These fully assembled and factory-tested EV kits enable testing of all the devices' functions. 50 SMA connectors and controlled-impedance transmission lines of MAX3775 are provided for the differential data inputs and outputs, as well as the voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) clock outputs. A test/calibration path enables the user to calibrate test equipment so accurate measurements can be taken. On-board 75 to 50 impedancetransformation networks simplify interfacing with standard 50 test equipment. Jumpers allow the user to enable or disable the repeater IC frequency lock indicator and the VCO's clock outputs. The VCO frequency lock of MAX3775 can be monitored at the LOCK test point.
