The MAX232EWE+T is one member of the MAX232 family which is designed as the +5V-powered, multichannel RS-232 drivers / receiver that can be used in wide range of applications such as (1)portable computers; (2)low-power modems; (3)interface translation; (4)battery-powered RS-232 systems; (5)multidrop RS-232 networks. Also this device is especially useful in battery-powered systems, since their low-power shutdown mode reduces power dissipation to less than 5W.
