The M24164-WBN1T is one member of the M24164 series. The M24164 is a 16 Kbit (2048 x 8) electrically erasable programmable memory (EEPROM) accessed by an I2C-compatible bus. These devices are compatible with a two-wire serial interface that uses a bi-directional data bus and serial clock. By setting the three chip enables (E0, E1, E2) appropriately, up to eight 16 Kbit devices can be attached to the same I2C bus, and selected individually.
Features of the M24164-WBN1T are:(1)two wire I2C serial interface; (2)supports 400 kHz protocol; (3)single supply voltage: 4.5V to 5.5V for M24164,2.5V to 5.5V for M24164-W; (4)write control input; (5)BYTE and PAGE WRITE (up to 16 bytes); (6)RANDOM and SEQUENTIAL READ modes; (7)self-timed programming cycle; (8)automatic address incrementing; (9)enhanced ESD/latch-up behavior; (10)more than 1 million erase/write cycles; (11)more than 40 year data retention. If a match occurs on the Device Select code, the corresponding device gives an acknowledgment on Serial Data (SDA) during the 9th bit time. If the device does not match the Device Select code, it deselects itself from the bus, and goes into Standby mode.
The absolute maximum ratings of the M24164-WBN1T can be summarized as:(1)input or output range:0.6V to 6.5 V;(2)storage temperature:-65 to +150;(3)lead temperature during soldering:260;(4)supply voltage:-0.3 V to 6.5 V;(5)electrostatic discharge voltage (human body model):-4000 to 4000V.The acknowledge bit is used to indicate a successful byte transfer. The bus transmitter, whether it be bus master or slave device, releases Serial Data(SDA) after sending eight bits of data. During the 9th clock pulse period, the receiver pulls Serial Data (SDA) Low to acknowledge the receipt of the eight data bits. This section summarizes the operating and measurement conditions, and the DC and AC characteristics of the device. The parameters in the DC and AC Characteristic tables that follow are derived from tests performed under the Measurement Conditions summarized in the relevant tables.Designers should check that the operating conditions in their circuit match the measurement conditions when relying on the quoted parameters.
