The LTC3728EG is designed as a dual high performance step-down switching regulator controller that drives all N-channel synchronous power MOSFET stages. A constant frequency current mode architecture allows phase-lockable frequency of up to 550kHz. Power loss and noise due to the ESR of the input capacitors are minimized by operating the two controller output stages out of phase.
LTC3728EG has seven features. (1)Dual, 180° phased controllers reduce required input capacitance and power supply induced noise. (2)OPTI-LOOP compensation minimizes Cout. (3)±1% output voltage accuracy. (4)Power good output voltage indicator. (5)Phase-lockable fixed frequency 250kHz to 550kHz. (6)Available in 5mm x 5mm QFN and 28-Pin SSOP packages. (7)Dual N-channel MOSFET synchronous drive. (8)Wide Vin range: 3.5V to 36V operation. (9)Very low dropout operation: 99% duty cycle. (10)Adjustable soft-start current ramping. (11)Foldback output current limiting. (12)Latched short-circuit shutdown with defeat option. (13)Output overvoltage protection. (14)Remote output voltage sense. (15)Low shutdown Iq: 20mA. (16)5V and 3.3V regulators. (17)3 selectable operating modes: constant frequency, burst mode operation and PWM. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of LTC3728EG have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its input supply voltage would be from 36V to -0.3V. (2)Its top side drive voltages would be from 42V to -0.3V. (3)Its switch voltage would be 36V to -5V. (4)Its INTVcc, EXTVcc, RUN/SS1, RUN/SS2, BOOST1-SW1, BOOST2-SW2, PGOOD would be from 7V to -0.3V. (5)Its SENSE1+, SENSE1-, SENSE2+, SENSE2- voltages would be from (1.1)INTVcc to -0.3V. (6)Its INTVcc peak output current would be 50mA. (7)Its junction temperature would be 125°C. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (9)Its lead temperature soldering 10 seconds would be 300°C. And so on.
