Description

The LTC 3458 is a high efficiency, current mode, fixedfrequency, step up DC/DC converter with true outputdisconnect and inrush current limiting. The LTC3458 israted for a 7.5V output and includes a 0.3Ω N-channelMOSFET switch and a 0.4Ω P-channel MOSFET synchro-nous rectifier. The LTC3458 is well suited for batterypowered applications and includes programmable outputvoltage, switching frequency and loop compensation. Theoscillator frequency can be set up to 1.5MHz or synchro-nized to an external clock.

Quiescent current is only 15µA during Burst Mode opera-tion maximizing battery life in portable applications. TheBurst Mode current threshold, peak current limit, and soft-start are externally programmable. Other features include<1µA shutdown current, antiringing control, and thermallimit. The LTC3458 is available in a low profile (0.75mm),3mm × 4mm 12-pin DFN package.
