Description

The LTC®1435 is a synchronous step-down switchingregulator controller that drives external N-channel powerMOSFETs using a fixed frequency architecture. BurstModeTMoperation provides high efficiency at low loadcurrents. A maximum duty cycle limit of 99% provides lowdropout operation which extends operating time in bat-tery-operated systems.

The operating frequency of LTC1435 is set by an external capacitorallowing maximum flexibility in optimizing efficiency. Asecondary winding feedback control pin, SFB, guaranteesregulation regardless of load on the main output byforcing continuous operation. Burst Mode operation is inhibited when the SFB pin is pulled low which reducesnoise and RF interference.Soft start is provided by an external capacitor which canbe used to properly sequence supplies. The operatingcurrent level is user-programmable via an external currentsense resistor. Wide input supply range allows operationfrom 3.5V to 30V (36V maximum)
