DescriptionThe LTC1430CS is one member of the LTC1430 family which is designed as the high power, high efficiency switching regulator controller optimized for 5V to 3.xV applications such as (1)power supply for P6 and Pentium microprocessors; (2)high power 5V to 3.xV regulators; (3)local regulation for dual voltage logic boards; (4)low voltage, high current battery regulation. Also this device includes a fixed frequency PWM oscillator for low output ripple under virtually all operating conditions.
Features of the LTC1430CS are:(1)high power 5V to 3.xV switching controller: can exceed 10A output; (2)all N-channel external MOSFETs; (3)Constant frequency operation-small L; (4)excellent output regulation: ±1% over line, load and temperature variations; (5)high efficiency: over 95% possible; (6)fixed frequency operation; (7)no low value sense resistor needed; (8)outputs can drive external FETs with up to 10,000pF gate capacitance; (9)quiescent current: 350mA Typ, 1mA in Shutdown; (10)fast transient response; (11)adjustable or fixed 3.3V output; (12)available in 8- and 16-lead PDIP and SO packages.
