The LT®1765 is a 1.25MHz monolithic buck switchingregulator. A high efficiency 3A, 0.09Ω switch is includedon the die together with all the control circuitry requiredto construct a high frequency, current mode switchingregulator. Current mode control provides fast transientresponse and excellent loop stability.
New design techniques of LT1765 achieve high efficiency at highswitching frequencies over a wide operating voltage range.A low dropout internal regulator maintains consistentperformance over a wide range of inputs from 24Vsystems to Li-Ion batteries. An operating supply currentof 1mA improves efficiency, especially at lower outputcurrents. Shutdown reduces quiescent current to 15µA.
Maximum switch current of LT1765 remains constant at all dutycycles. Synchronization allows an external logic levelsignal to increase the internal oscillator into the range of1.6MHz to 2MHz.Full cycle-by-cycle current control and thermal shutdownare provided. High frequency operation allows the reduc-tion of input and output filtering components and permitsthe use of chip inductors.
