DescriptionThe LT1684CN is one member of the LT1684 series which is designed as one kind of telecommunication ring tone generator that can be used in fiber to the curb telecom equipment, key system/PBX equipment and wireless local loop telephones. This device normalizes the pulse amplitude to ±1.25V for an accurate signal voltage reference and uses its own ring tone output as a reference for generating local supply rails employing complementary high voltage external MOSFETs as dynamic levelshifting devices.
Features of the LT1684CN are:(1)allows dynamic control of output frequency, cadence, amplitude and DC offset; (2)active tracking supply configuration allows linear generation of ring tone signal; (3)no high voltage post-filtering required; (4)capacitive isolation eliminates optocouplers; (5)low distortion output meets international PTT requirements; (6)differential input signal for noise immunity; (7)user adjustable active output current limit; (8)powered directly from high voltage ringer supply-no additional supplies necessary; (9)2% signal amplitude reference; (10)available in 14-pin SO and DIP packages.
