The LMS485IMX/NOPB is designed as a low power differential bus/line transceiver for high speed bidirectional data communication on multipoint transmission lines. It is designed for balanced transmission lines. It meets ANSI standards TIA/EIA RS422-B, TIA/EIA RS485-A and ITU recommendation and V.11 and X.27.
LMS485IMX/NOPB has eleven features. (1)Meet ANSI standard RS-485-A and RS-422-B. (2)Data rate 2.5Mbps. (3)Single supply voltage operation, 5V. (4)Thermal shutdown protection. (5)Short circuit protection. (6)Low power BiCMOS. (7)Allows up to 32 transceivers on the bus. (8)Open circuit fail-safe for receiver. (9)Extended operating temperature range -40°C to 85°C. (10)Drop-in replacement to MAX485. (11)Available in 8-pin SOIC and 8-Pin DIP package. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of LMS485IMX/NOPB have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be 7V. (2)Its input voltage would be from -0.3V to Vcc+0.3V. (3)Its voltage range at any bus terminal would be from -7V to 12V. (4)Its receiver outputs would be from -0.3V to Vcc+0.3V. (5)Its package thermal impedance would be 125°C/W. (6)Its junction temperature would be 150°C. (7)Its operating free-air temperature range would be from 0°C to 70°C for commercial and would be from -40°C to 85°C for industrial. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. (9)Its soldering information infrared or convection 20 seconds would be 260°C. (10)Its ESD rating would be 7KV. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of LMS485IMX/NOPB are concluded as follow.
