The LM359 includes two differencing (Norton) input amplifiers. It is designed to obtain high frequency performance and provide user programmable amplifier operating characteristics. The typical applications include: (1)general purpose video amplifiers; (2)high frequency, high Q active filters; (3)photo-diode amplifiers; (4)wide frequency range waveform generation circuits; (5)all LM3900 AC applications work to much higher frequencies.
There are some features of LM359 as follows: (1)user programmable gain bandwidth product, slew rate, input bias current, output stage biaing current and total device power dissipation; (2)high gain bandwidth product (ISET=0.5 mA): 400 MHz for Av=10 to 100 and 30 MHz for Av=1; (3)high slew rate (ISET=0.5 mA): 60 V/s for Av=10 to 100 and 30 V/s for Av=1; (4)current differencing inputs allow high common-mode input voltages; (5)operates from a single 5 V to 22 V supply; (6)large inverting amplifier output swing, 2 mV to VCC-2 V; (7)low spot noise, 6 nV/Hz, for f>1 kHz.
