Description

The LM339 is designed as one kind of quad voltage comparator that can be used in (1)square wave generator; (2)time delay generators; (3)pulse generators; (4)multivibrators; (5)high voltage digital logic gates; (6)A/D converters; (7)MOS clock timers applications. This device has a lower input offset voltage than the CA139 and some of the SOIC parts are available on tape and reel.

Features of the LM339 are:(1)operation from single or dual supplies; (2)common mode input voltage range to GND; (3)output voltage compatible with TTL, DTL, ECL, MOS and CMOS; (4)differential input voltage range equal to the supply voltage; (5)replacement for industry types 139, 239, 339, 139A, 2901, 3302.

The LM139 series consists of four independent precision voltage comparators with an offset voltage specification as low as 2 mV max for all four comparators. These were de- signed specifically to operate from a single power supply over a wide range of voltages. Operation from split power supplies is also possible and the low power supply current drain is independent of the magnitude of the power supply voltage. These comparators also have a unique characteris- ic in that the input common-mode voltage range includes ground, even though operated from a single power supply voltage.
