The LC74401E is designed as one kind of memory controllers for TV set and VCR PIP systems. Since these LSIs include three D/A converter circuits, a component PIP system can be constructed by combining one of these LSIs with memory and an AD converter such as the LC7480.

LC74401E has many features. (1)Horizontal resolution 600 TV lines. (2)Three DA converters are incorporated in the PIP memory controller block. (3)High image quality is supported by vertical filter function frame memory processing. (4)I2C bus controlled. (5)Built-in PLL circuit (requires an external LPF). (6)Supports NTSC, PAL, and multiple (NTSC-PAL) formats. (7)Operating supply voltage 5V +/-10%. And so on.

Some absolute maximum ratings of LC74401E have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its maximum supply voltage would be from -0.3V to 7.0V. (2)Its input voltage would be from -0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (3)Its output voltage would be from -0.3V to Vdd+0.3V. (4)Its allowable power dissipation would be 350mW. (5)Its operating temperature range would be from -10°C to 70°C. (6)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 125°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
