The LC72140 is designed as a high performance phase-locked loop (PLL) frequency synthesizer that operate over the VHF, MW and LW wave bands. It feature excellent frequency tracking, making it ideal as a reference frequency source for use in AM/FM radio receivers.
LC72140 has ten features. (1)High speed programmable dividers for 10 to 160MHz on FMIN using pulse swallower and 0.5 to 40MHz on AMIN using pulse swallower and direct division. (2)General purpose counters (used toghter with the SD in IF count mode). (3)4.5 or 7.2MHz crystal. (4)Twelve selectable reference frequencies (1,3,5,9,10,3,125,6,25,12,5,25,30,50 and 100kHz). (5)Phase comparator insensitive band control, unclock detection, sub-charge pump for high speed locking and deadlock clear circuit. (6)C2B input/output data interface. (7)Power-on reset circuit. (8)Built-in MOS transistor for a low-pass filter. (8)Inouts/outputs (using five general purpose input/output ports). (9)5V supply. (10)24-pin DIP. Those are all the main features.
