Description

The L7812CV is one member of the L7800 series which is designed as three-terminal positive voltage regulators. This series is available in TO-220, TO-220FP, TO-220FM, TO-3 and D2PAK packages and several fixed output voltages, making it useful in a wide range of applications.

L7812CV has five features. The first one is output current would to be 1.5A. The second one is output voltages would be of 5, 5.2, 6, 8, 8.5, 9, 10, 12, 15, 18 and 24V. The third one is thermal overload protection. The fourth one is short circuit protection. The fifth one is output transition SOA protection. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of L7812CV have been concluded into several points as follow. Its DC input voltage would be 35V for Vo=5 to 18V and it would be 40V for Vo=20, 24V. Its output current and power dissipation would be internally limited. Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. Its operating junction temperature range would be from 0°C to 150°C.
