The L5A4266 chipbridge is designed as a highly integrated ASIC that combines LAN and WAN subsystems to achieve a full ethernet remote bridge on a single chip. It automatically learns the MAC addresses on the LAN it is connected to, and forwards only the frames destined for another LAN. It is fully compliant with the IEEE 802.3 standard.
L5A4266 has many features. (1) High performance, single chip, full remote ethernet bridge, fully IEEE 802.3 compatible. (2) On chip AUI (DTE ot DCE) or UTP LAN interfaces. (3) NRZ decoded signals for easy interface to other ethernet chips. (4) 10Mbps in half-duplex mode or 20Mbps in full-duplex mode. (5) Automatic TP polarity reversal. (6) Multiple LAN operating modes. (7) Glueless connection to most LAN chips. (8) Up to 40Mbps Sync WAN link. (9) Up to 115.2kbps async WAN link with internal baud rate generator. (10) 10,000-address LAN table.
