L298N

The L298N is a kind of dual full-bridge driver. It is an integrated monolithic circuit in a 15-lead Multiwatt package. It is designed to acceptstandardTTLlogic levels anddrive inductive loads such as relays, solenoids, DC and steppingmotors.

There are some features of L298N as follows: (1) operating supply voltage up to 46 V; (2) total DC current up to 4 A; (3) low saturation voltage; (4) overtemperature protection; (5) logic "0" input voltage up to 1.5 V (high noise immunity).

What comes next is about the absolute maximum ratings of L298N. (1): power supply (VS) is 50 V;  (2): logic supply voltage is 7 V and input and enable voltage (VI, Ven) is from -0.3 to 7 V; (3): sensing voltage (Vsens) is from -1 to 2.3 V; (4): IO (peak output current (each channel)) is 3 A when non repetitive (t=100 s) is 3 A, 2.5 A when repetitive (80% on20% off; ton=10ms) and 2 A when DC operation; (5): power dissipation is 1.5 W at TA=25 and 2.2 W at TC=25; (6): input voltage is ±VS; (7): differential input voltage is ±30 V or ±2VS; (8): operating temperature range is from -55 to +125; (9): storage temperature range is from -65 to +150; (10): lead temperature (soldering, 10 sec.) is 300.
