The KMY 24 is a microwave rader motion sensorbased on the Doppler effect. It transmits a lowenergy microwave radiation at 2.45 GHz which isreflected by objects. If the object ismoving relativeto the sensor, a Doppler shift occurs. The shiftedwave ismixed with the original wave in twomixers,resulting in two output voltage signals. The phaseshift of KMY24 between these two signals is negative orpositive depending on whether the target isapproaching or receding from the detector.
