The KH220 is a wide bandwidth DC-coupled operational mplifier that defines the state-of-the-art in high peed op amps. A -3dB bandwidth of DC to 190MHz s achieved using a current feedback architecture esign. Ultra-fast settling time (8nsec to 0.1%) and lew rate (7000V/sec) make the KH220 a superior mplifier for pulsed and digital applications.
Since thermal tail has been eliminated, the KH220 ettles fast and remains solidly at the desired level. lat gain and linear phase (1.2° deviation from linear) rom DC to beyond 100MHz help the KH220 to chieve distortion levels uncommonly low relative to onventional op amps.
Using the KH220 is as easy as adding power supplies nd a gain-setting resistor. The result is reliable, onsistent performance because such characteristics as andwidth and settling time are virtually independent f gain setting. Unlike conventional op amp designs here the optimum gain-bandwidth product occurs t a high gain, minimum settling time at a gain of -1, aximum slew rate at a gain of +1, et cetera, the H220 offers predictable response at gain settings rom ±1 to ±50. This, coupled with consistent performance rom unit to unit with no external ompensation, makes the KH220 a real time and costsaver n design and production situations alike.
This combination of features makes the KH220 ppropriate for a broad range of applications. The ide bandwidth, DC coupling, and fast settling lend hemselves well to high speed D to A and "flash" A to applications. Both receivers and transmitters in ptical fiber systems have similar requirements. High ain and phase linearity and corresponding low istortion make the KH220 ideal for many digital ommunic tion system applications, such as in the emodulator, where the need for both DC coupling nd high frequency amplification creates requirements hat are difficult to meet.
