ISL83070EIBZA-T

The ISL83070EIBZA-T is designed as BiCMOS 3.3V powered, single transceivers that meet both the RS-485 and RS-422 standards for balanced communication. It has very low bus currents (+125A / -100A), so they present a true "1/8 unit load" to the RS-485 bus. This allows up to 256 transceivers on the network without violating the RS-485 specification's 32 unit load maximum, and without using repeaters. Typical applications include automated utility meter reading systems, high node count systems, field bus networks, security camera networks, building environmental control/ lighting systems and industrial / process control networks.

The ISL83070EIBZA-T has thirteen features. (1) Pb-free plus anneal (RoHS compliant). (2) RS-485 I/O pin ESD protection ±15kV HBM which means class 3 ESD level on all other pins >7kV HBM. (3) Full fail-safe (open, short, terminated / floating) receivers. (4) Hot plug - Tx and Rx outputs remain three-state during power-up. (5) True 1/8 unit load allows up to 256 devices on the bus. (6) Single 3.3V supply. (7) High data rates up to 20Mbps. (8) Low quiescent supply current 800A (max) and ultra low shutdown supply current 10nA. (9) -7V to +12V common mode input/output voltage range. (10) Half and full duplex pinouts. (11) Three state Rx and Tx outputs available. (12) Current limiting and thermal shutdown for driver overload protection. (13) Tiny MSOP package offering saves 50% board space. That are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of ISL83070EIBZA-T have been concluded into several points as follow. (1) Its Vcc to ground would be 7V. (2) Its input voltages DI, DE, RE would be from -0.3V to 7V. (3) Its input / output voltages A, B, Y, Z would be from -8V to 13V and would be from -0.3V to Vcc+0.3V for RO. (4) Its short circuit duration Y, Z would be continuous.
