ISL3880IK-T5

The ISL3880IK-T5 is a kind of wireless LAN integrated medium access controller with baseband processor. It is part of the PRISM GTi™ radio chipset. The device directly interfaces with the Intersil's ISL3680 Direct Conversion Transceiver with AGC and synthesizer. Besides, it has built-in flexibility which allows it to be configured for a range of applications. It is packaged in a thin plastic BGA package suitable for CardBus or Mini-PCI circuit card applications. The typical applications include high data rate wireless LAN systems targeting the IEEE 802.11b/g standards, cardbus32 wireless LAN adapters, mini-PCI wireless LAN cards and 3 V PCI wireless LAN adapters.

There are some features as follows: (1) firmware implements the full IEEE 802.11b/g Wireless LAN MAC protocols; (2) internal WEP engine allows 64 or 128 bit encryption; (3) AES hardware accelerator; (4) start-up-modes allow the PCI configuration registers or the card bus card information structure to be initialized from a small external serial EEPROM; (5) on-chip SRAM memory; (6) a low frequency crystal oscillator can maintain time, which allows the high frequency clock source to be powered off during sleep mode; (7) firmware controlled antenna diversity; (8) convolutional coding and interleaving on all OFDM rates; (9) targeted for OFDM multipath delay spreads from > 800 ns for 6 Mbps to > 100 ns for 54 Mbps.
