The IS440 is designed as one kind of OPIC light detectors with built-in signal processing circuit for light modulation system. Typical applications include optoelectronic switches and copoers, printers and facsimiles.
The IS440 has three features. (1)Impervious to external disturbing lights due to light modulation system. (2)Built-in pulse driver circuit and sync detector circuit on the emitter side. (3)A wide range of operating supply voltages (Vcc 4.5V to 16V). Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of IS440 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its supply voltage would be from -0.5V to 16V. (2)Its output voltage would be 16V. (3)Its output current would be 50mA. (4)Its GL output voltage would be 16V. (5)Its power dissipation would be 250mW. (6)Its operating temperature range would be from -25°C to 60°C. (7)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 100°C. (8)Its soldering temperature would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
