The IDT70261 is a high-speed 16K x 16 dual-port static RAM.The IDT70261 is designed to be used as a stand-alone dual-port RAM or as acombination MASTER/SLAVE DuaL-Port RAM for32-bit-or-moreword systems. Using the IDT MASTER/SLAVE Dual-Port RAM approach in 32-bitorwider memory system applications results in full-speed, error-free operation withoutthe need foradditional discrete logic.
The IDT70261 has the following features including:(1)busy and interrupt flags; (2)on-chip port arbitration logic; (3)full on-chip hardware support of semaphore signaling between ports; (4)fully asynchronous operation from either port; (5)TTL-compatible, single 5V (±10%) power supply; (6)available in 100-pin thin quad flatpack; (7)industrial temperature range (-40 to +85) is available for selected speeds.Software handshaking between processors offers the maximum in system flexibility by permitting shared resourcesto be allocated in varying configurations. The IDT70261 does not use its semaphore flags to control any resources through hardware, thus allowing the system designertotal flexibility in system architecture.
The absolute maximum ratings of the IDT70261 are:(1)temperature under bias:-55 to 125; (2)storage temperature range:-55 to 125; (3)terminal voltage with respect to GND:-0.5 to 7.0V; (4)DC output current:50mA.Stresses greater than those listed under absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to the device. As an example, the semaphore can be used by one processorto inhibitthe otherfrom accessing a portion of the dual-port RAM or any other shared resource.
