Description

The HCPL-T250 is designed as 1.5A output current IGBT gate drive optocoupler which contains GaAs LED. The LED is optically coupled to an integrated circuit with a power output stage. This HCPL-T250 optocoupler is ideally suited for driving power IGBTs and MOSFETs used in motor control inverter applications. The high operating voltage range of the output stage provides the drive voltages required by gate controlled devices.

HCPL-T250 has eleven features. (1)Input threshold current 5mA max. (2)Supply current 11mA max. (3)Supply voltage 15V to 35V. (4)Output current would be +/-0.5A min. (5)Switching time would be 0.5us max. (6)Isolation voltage 3750Vrms min. (7)UL 1577 recognized: file No.E55361. (8)CSA approved. (9)IEC/EN/DIN EN 60747-5-2 approved with Viorm=630Vpeak. (10)8kV/us minimum common rejection CMR at Vcm=1500V. (11)Creepage distance 7.4mm and clearance 7.1mm. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of HCPL-T250 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its operating temperature range would be from -20°C to 85°C. (2)Its high peak output current would be max 1.5A. (3)Its low peak output current would be max 1.5A. (4)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to 125°C. (5)Its average input current would be max 20mA. (6)Its peak transient input current (<1us pulse width, 300pps) would be max 1.0A. (7)Its reverse input voltage would be max 5V. (8)Its supply voltage would be min 0V and max 35V. (9)Its output voltage would be min 0V and max Vcc. (10)Its output power dissipation would be max 250mW. (11)Its lead solder temperature would be 260°C for 10 seconds, 1.6mm below seating plane.
