The GP1A18 is designed as high sensitivity type OPIC photointerrupter. Typical applications include copiers, printers, facsimiles, optoelectronic switches and optoelectronic counters.

GP1A18 has six features. (1)Built-in schmidt trigger circuit. (2)Low threshold input current max 5mA. (3)Operating supply voltage 4.5V to 17V. (4)High sensing accuracy (slit width 0.5mm). (5)TTL and CMOS compatible output. (6)Easy to mount on PWB due to compact and lightweight. Those are all the main features.

Some absolute maximum ratings of GP1A18 have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its forward current would be 50mA. (2)Its peak forward current would be 1A. (3)Its reverse voltage would be 6V. (4)Its input power dissipation would be 75mW. (5)Its output supply voltage would be 17V. (6)Its low level output current would be 50mA. (7)Its output power dissipation would be 250mW. (8)Its operating temperature range would be from -25°C to +85°C. (9)Its storage temperature range would be from -40°C to +100°C. (10)Its soldering temperature would be 260°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
