The GM6080 is an 80mA linear voltage regulator in the SC70-5 package. With half the footprint of an SOT-25 package, this SC70-5 regulator has very low dropout voltage (from typically 20mV at light loads to 300mV at 80mA) and very low ground current (225A at 20mA output). It includes a logic-compatible enable input and provides better than 3% initial accuracy.
The GM6080 is designed for optimal performance with lowvalue, low-cost ceramic capacitors. In most applications only 0.47F of output capacitance is required for stability.
The GM6080 is designed specifically for battery-powered devices. It can be controlled by a CMOS or TTL compatible logic signal. When disabled, power consumption drops practically to zero. If on/off control is not required, the enable pin may be tied to the input for 3-terminal operation.
To further enhance battery life, the ground current of the GM6080 increases only slightly in dropout. Notable features include current limiting, overtemperature shutdown, and protection against reversed battery connection.
The GM6080 is available in 2.5V, 2.6V, 2.7V, 2.8V, 3.0V, 3.3V, and 3.6V fixed voltages. Other voltages are available by special order.
