Description

The FX836 is a kind of Processor controlled full-duplex audio processor on a single chip with seperate Tx, Rx, and LF (50 baud) data paths to provide all the filter/gain/limiting functions necessary to pre-process audio, data and signalling in the Radiocom 2000 (R2000) Cellular communication system. The device is a low-power CMOS device and reduces the amount of microcircuits and components required in a cellular audio system by providing more functions on a single chip. In addition, the FX836 is available in 28-pin plastic small outline (SOIC) surface mount and cerdip DIL packages.

There are some features of FX836 as follows: (1) full-duplex audio processing for R2000 cellular system; (2)on-chip speech and data facilities: Tx/Rx/data filtering & gain and pre-/de-emphasis-deviation limiter; (3)serial Processor interface; (4)Tx and Rx LF-data paths; (5)FFSK and (50 baud) LF-data facilities; (6)hands-free compatibility; (7)access to external processes: compression-expansion, signalling/data mixing and VSR codec (store/play); (8)powersave (low-current) settings.

The following is about the absolute maximum ratings of FX836: (1)supply voltage: -0.3 to 7.0 V; (2)input voltage at any pin (ref. VSS=0 V): -0.3 to VDD+0.3 V; (3)sink/source current: ±30 mA at supply pins and ±20 mA at other pins; (4)total device dissipation @ TAMB 25: 800 mW max; (5)operating temperature range: -40 to +85 (plastic) for FX836DW and -40 to +85 (cerdip) for FX836J; (6)storage temperature range: -40 to +85 (plastic) for FX836DW and -55 to +125 (cerdip) for FX836J. Then is about the operating limits (VDD=5.0 V, TAMB=25, Xtal/Clock fo=4.032 MHz, audio level 0 dB ref.=308 mV rms @ 1.0 kHz): (1)supply voltage: 4.5 V min, 5.0 V typ and 5.5 V max; (2)supply current: 10.0 mA when operating, 2.5 mA typ when Rx data mode and 0.6 mA when powersave all; (3)alias frequency: 63.0 kHz typ.
