EN29PL064

The EN29PL064 is a 64 Mbit, 3.0 volt-only page mode and simultaneous read/write flash memory device organized as 4 Mwords.The word-wide data (x16) appears on DQ15-DQ0. This device can be programmed in-system or in standard EPROM programmers. A 11.0 volt VPP is not required for write or erase operations.The device offers fast page access times of 25 ns, with corresponding random access times of 70 ns, respectively, allowing high speed microprocessors to operate without wait states.

Features of the EN29PL064 are:(1)secured silicon sector region---up to 64 customer-lockable words; (2)both top and bottom boot blocks in one device; (3)data retention: 20 years typical; (4)cycling endurance: 100K cycles per sector typical; (5)data can be continuously read from one bank while executing erase/ program functions in another bank; (6)zero latency switching from write to read operations.The device can improve overall system performance by allowing a host system to program or erase in one bank, then immediately and simultaneously read from another bank with zero latency (with two simultaneous operations operating at any one time). This releases the system from waiting for the completion of a program or erase operation, greatly improving system performance.

If the user attempts to program or erase a protected sector, the device ignores the command and returns to read mode. A program command to a protected sector enables status polling for approximately 1 s before the device returns to read mode without having modified the contents of the protected sector. An erase command to a protected sector enables status polling for approximately 50 s after which the device returns to read mode without having erased the protected sector.
