The EF6821 peripheral interface adapter provides the universal means of interfacing peripheral equipment to the 6800 family of microprocessors.This devices is capable of interfacing the MPU to peripherals through two 8-bit bidirectional peripheral data buses and four control lines, No external logic is required for interfacing to most peripheral devices.

EF6821 has many unique features: the first one is 8-bit bidirectional data bus for communication with the MPU. The second one is two bidrectional 8-bit buses for interface to peripherals. The third one is two programmable control registers. The forth one is high-impedance three-state and direct transistor drive peripheral lines. The fifth one is program controlled interrupt and interrupt disable capability,etc.There are some maximum ratings about it. Supply voltage (Vcc) is -0.3 V to 7.0 V. Input voltage(Vin) is -0.3 V to 7.0 V. Storage temperature is -55 to +150. Thermal resistance: ceramic is 50/W;plastic is 100/W;cerdip is 60/W;PLCC is 100/W.
