The DS2409P is designed as an essential component to build and control 1-wire microLAN networks with multi-level branching. In contrast to approaches that switch the ground line, the coupler maintains a common ground level for the whole network and keeps the inactive segments powered.
DS2409P has many features. (1)Low impedance coupler to create large common-ground, multi-level microLAN networks. (2)Keeps inactive branches pulled high to 5V. (3)Simplifies network topology analysis by logically decoupling devices on active network segments. (4)Conditional search for fast event signaling. (5)Auxiliary 1-wireTM line to connect a memory chip or to be used as digital input. (6)Programmable, general purpose open drain control output. (7)Communicates at 16.3kbits per second. (8)Unique, factory-lasered and tested 64bit registration number (8-bit family code+48-bit serial number+8-bit CRC tester) assures absolute traceability because no two parts are alike. (9)8bit family code specifies device communication requirements to bus master. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings of DS2409P have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)Its voltage on data to ground would be from -0.5V to +7.0V. (2)Its operating temperature range would be from -40°C to +85°C. (3)Its storage temperature range would be from -55°C to +125°C. (4)Its soldering temperature would be 260°C for 10 seconds. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some DC characteristics of DS2409P are concluded as follow. (1)Its logic 1 (1-wire in) would be min 2.2V and max Vdd. (2)Its logic 0 (1-wire in) would be min -0.3V and max +0.8V. (3)Its output logic low at 4mA (1-wire in) would be max 0.4V. (4)Its output logic high (1-wire in) would be max Vpup. (5)Its input load current (1-wire in) would be typ 5uA. And so on.
