The CDC9171 is designed as a high-performance clock synthesizer that generates the required clock signals needed for a DVD system. It generates all output frequencies from an 18.432MHz crystal.
CDC9171 has eight features. (1)Two integrated PLLs provide all digital video disk (DVD) system frequencies. (2)Two 27MHz reference clock outputs. (3)One 18.432MHz reference clock output. (4)One 33.875MHz reference clock output. (5)Output clock frequencies derived from an 18.432MHz crystal input. (6)3.3V CMOS outputs. (7)Separate analog core and output supply voltage. (8)Internal loop filters for phase-lock loops eliminate the need for external components. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points as follow. (1)CDC9171's supply voltage range would be from -0.5V to 4.6V. (2)Its input voltage range would be from -0.5V to 6.5V. (3)Its voltage range applied to any output in the high state or power-off state would be from -0.5V to Vcc+0.5V. (4)Its current into any output in the low state would be ±35mA. (5)Its input clamp current would be -50mA. (6)CDC9171's output clamp current would be ±50mA. (7)Its maximum power dissipation at Ta=55°C (in still air) would be 0.65W. (8)Its storage temperature range would be from -65°C to 150°C. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
