The CAT5409 is four Digitally ProgrammablePotentiometers (DPP™) integrated with control logicand 16 bytes of NVRAM memory.
CAT5409 separate 6-bit control register (WCR) independentlycontrols the wiper tap position for each DPP.Associated with each wiper control register are four 6-
bit non-volatile memory data registers (DR) used forstoring up to four wiper settings. Writing to the wipercontrol register or any of the non-volatile data registersis via a 2-wire serial bus (I2C-like). On power-up, thecontents of the first data register (DR0) for each of thefour potentiometers is automatically loaded into itsrespective wiper control register (WCR).
The Write Protection (WP) pin protects againstinadvertent programming of the data register.
The CAT5409 can be used as a potentiometer or asa two terminal, variable resistor. It is intended forcircuit level or system level adjustments in a widevariety of applications.
