The BYT28B-300 is designed as one kind of dual common-cathode ultrafast soft recovery rectifiers for use in high frequency rectifier of switching mode power supplies, inverters, freewheeling diodes, dc-to-dc converters, and other power switching application.
BYT28B-300 has eight features. (1)Glass passivated chip junction. (2)Ultrafast recovery time. (3)Low switching losses, high efficiency. (4)Low forward voltage drop. (5)High forward surge capability. (6)Meets MSL level 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 245°C (for TO-263AB package). (7)Solder dip 260°C, 40s (for TO-220AB and ITO-220AB package). (8)Component in accordance to RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC. Those are all the main features.
Some absolute maximum ratings have been concluded into several points of BYT28B-300 as follow. (1)Its maximum repetitive peak reverse voltage would be 300V. (2)Its maximum working reverse voltage would be 300V. (3)Its maximum RMS voltage would be 210V. (4)Its maximum DC blocking voltage would be 300V. (5)Its maximum average forward retified current at Tc=100°C would be 10A for total device and would be 5.0A for per diode. (6)Its peak forward surge current 8.3ms single half sine-wave superimposed on rated load per diode would be 60A. (7)Its operating junction and storage temperature range would be from -40°C to 150°C. (8)Its isolation voltage would be 1500V. It should be noted that stresses above those listed in absolute maximum ratings may cause permanent damage to device.
Also some electrical characteristics of BYT28B-300 are concluded as follow. (1)Its maximum instantaneous forward voltage per diode would be 1.3V at If=5A, Tj=25°C and would be 1.4V at If=10A, Tj=25°C and would be 1.05V at If=5A, Tj=150°C. (2)Its maximum reverse current per diode at Vrrm would be 10uA at Tj=25°C and would be 200uA at Tj=100°C. (3)Its maximum reverse recovery time per diode would be 35ns with conditions of If=0.5A, Ir=1.0A, Irr=0.25A. And so on.
